Every Zendura material is engineered for a specific role in aligner therapy — not a compromise between roles. This guide helps you match the material to the clinical application.
At a glance#
| Material | Application | Construction | Engineered for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zendura FLX | Clear aligners | Patented dual-shell tri-layer | Comfort-driven force delivery — the premium choice for most aligner cases |
| Zendura VIVA | Clear aligners | Tri-layer | The highest sustained forces combined with flexibility — strong, versatile performance |
| Zendura A | Clear retainers | Rigid monolayer | Strength and crack resistance over years of retainer wear |
| Zendura AT & TRAK | Attachment templates | Template-grade | Accurate, precise transfer of attachment designs to the patient’s teeth |
Aligners: Zendura FLX or Zendura VIVA?#
Both aligner materials deliver sustained, gentle force far longer than commodity PETG sheets — the difference is emphasis:
- Choose Zendura FLX when patient comfort leads. FLX’s patented structure — rigid outer shells over an elastomeric core — yields a low initial insertion force and up to 150% better force retention over the wear period, making it the proven premium material for everyday cases.
- Choose Zendura VIVA when the case calls for more force. Built on FLX’s tri-layer architecture, VIVA is tuned to deliver the highest sustained forces of any tested material without giving up comfort — well suited to more demanding movements.
For the data behind this comparison — standardized properties, force-retention curves, and independent research — see Clinical Evidence.
Retainers: Zendura A#
Retention is an endurance application: retainers are worn nightly, often for years, and must hold tooth position passively without active force. Zendura A is the established gold standard — a rigid monolayer polyurethane with outstanding crack resistance, impact strength, and long-term dimensional stability, including against bruxing and grinding.
Attachment templates: Zendura AT & TRAK#
Precision attachment placement demands a template material with accuracy you can register against the setup model. Zendura AT and Zendura TRAK are the template materials in the lineup — two options so you can pick the handling and precision profile that fits your bonding workflow.
