Designed for Everyday Retention

SMART PERFORMANCE.
TRUSTED TECHNOLOGY.

After active orthodontic treatment, retainer becomes the most critical appliance for the patient as it maintains the position of the teeth and prevents relapses. Built on tri-layer architecture, Zendura Guard was engineered to resist deformation and provide a softer, more flexible material response than traditional single layer thermoplastics.

Clear retainers must do more than “hold teeth.” They must:

  • Resist tearing, cracking, and deformation
  • Stay clear and stain resistant
  • Support a comfortable wear experience without sacrificing retention

FLEXURAL MODULUS
#

Flexural modulus describes how much a retainer material resists bending under load—in other words, how stiff or flexible it is when forces are applied during insertion, removal, and chewing. For retainers, flexural modulus is important because it directly influences comfort and durability. Materials that are too stiff can be harsh, concentrate stresses and are more prone to cracking.

In laboratory testing under defined conditions, Zendura Guard demonstrated 45% lower stiffness (flexural modulus) than Essix A+, a comparable commercially available retainer material—suggestive of a material that is more stress-absorbing with a softer feel.*

TEAR STRENGTH
#

Tear Strength measures a material’s resistance to the propagation of a crack once damage begins. For retainers, this property is critical because small defects—such as trimmed edges, notches, or stress points—can quickly turn into full fractures during daily insertion, removal, or chewing. Materials with low tear strength are more likely to crack even under normal use.

In laboratory testing, Zendura Guard demonstrated more than 2× the tear strength of Essix A+ under defined test conditions.*
